S L N Shamiyana Center is tucked away at Yelahanka New Town Bhel Layout, Pattanagere 316. This place is more of a warehouse than an office. We have piles of metal poles, rolls of colorful cloth, and hundreds of folded chairs stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a very physical business. Most of our time is spent loading these heavy things onto trucks to take them to weddings or local festivals. Our hands are usually calloused and a bit dirty from the work. It’s not a glamorous job, but someone has to do it so people have a place to sit and shade from the sun. The layout here in Pattanagere is a bit confusing for outsiders, so we often have to give directions over the phone. When it’s not the wedding season, things get a bit quiet and we spend time mending the tents or painting the chairs. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. Most people find us because their neighbors used us before. We have a small desk with a dusty computer where we keep track of the bookings. Sometimes things get mixed up and we have to scramble at the last minute, but we always manage to get the tents up on time. The weather can be a real enemy, especially when the wind picks up during a setup. It’s just us and our tools, doing what we know best.
