S L N Rice Corner

If you walk down Nagawara 80 Feet Road, you will find S L N Rice Corner right on the main road. The first thing you notice is the smell of raw grain and the stacks of heavy gunny bags. We sell different kinds of rice by the kilo or by the full bag. It is heavy work lifting those sacks all day but it keeps us moving. We have different varieties like Sona Masuri or Ponni stacked up according to their price. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dust from the rice, so we are always sweeping. Nagawara Main Road is always noisy with buses and bikes, but inside the shop, it feels a bit calmer. Families come in to buy their monthly stock and we help them load it onto their scooters. We have a small wooden desk where we keep the accounts and a big weighing scale that has been here for years. It is a simple life running a rice shop. We know most of our customers by their names or what they usually buy. Sometimes we run out of a certain brand and have to wait for the truck to come from the mill. We just stay open until late evening when the last of the office crowd heads home. It's just a basic shop for daily needs and we enjoy being part of the local community here.
