Our workshop and shop is located at 82/2 Hosur Layout, inside the Jayashree Commercial Complex. We are pretty close to Kudlu Gate and right next to the APC warehouse. It’s an area full of trucks and warehouses, so it’s always active. Most of our day is spent surrounded by chairs—some new ones for sale and a lot of broken ones waiting to be fixed. You’ll see wheels, gas lifts, and scraps of fabric all over the floor. It’s a messy business, but that’s how it goes when you’re repairing furniture. We deal with office chairs mostly, the kind that people sit in for eight hours a day until they finally snap. Sometimes a customer brings in an old chair they really love, and we see if we can give it a bit more life. The air is usually full of the smell of glue or the sound of a drill. We aren’t located in a fancy mall, just a practical commercial complex where we can get the work done. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many frames stacked up. We take things as they come, whether it’s a single chair from a neighbor or a dozen from a nearby office. It’s physical work, getting under the seats and tightening bolts. We stay busy with the tools and the spare parts, just keeping people comfortable while they work at their own desks.
