S K S Tele Links is sitting over here in Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar, right near the Veena Sargam area. We’ve been in Mahavir Nagar 2 for a good stretch of time now. Most days start early, getting the shutters up and seeing who’s already out and about on the street. It’s not a fancy setup or anything like that. Just a regular place where we handle whatever comes through the door regarding the phone links and stuff people need. The neighborhood stays pretty busy, so there is always some noise from the traffic nearby. We spend a lot of our hours just making sure things are running okay inside the shop. Sometimes the weather makes it quiet, but usually, it’s just the same routine day after day. It’s a small space, filled with the usual things you’d expect to find in a tele links shop. We don’t really go for all those big advertisements or shiny signs. People just know where we are because we’ve been at this address for so long. You see the same faces walking past toward Veena Sargam every afternoon. It gets a bit dusty with the road right there, but we try to keep the counters wiped down. It’s just how things go around here in this part of town. Nothing too complicated about it. We just open up, do the work that needs doing, and then head home when the sun goes down and the street lights come on.
