Rythm Mobile

Rythm Mobile is located at Srirampuram 1607/19, which is a busy little corner. The shop is quite narrow, so if three people come in at once, it feels very crowded. We sell mostly prepaid top-ups and basic phone accessories like earphones that always get tangled up. The walls are covered in posters for different mobile networks, some of them are quite old and peeling at the edges. We have a small glass counter that we have to wipe down constantly because people are always leaning on it. Outside, the street is narrow and there are always scooters parked on the pavement. Sometimes the power goes out in Srirampuram and we have to sit in the dark until the backup kicks in. It makes it hard to test the chargers or show people the new phone models. We know most of the kids from the neighborhood who come in to ask for the latest game cards or data packs. We don't really have a big staff, just me and occasionally my cousin helps out in the evenings. The noise from the main road isn't too far away, but our lane is a bit quieter. We keep a small stool outside for the elderly men who stop to rest. It’s a simple life running a phone shop. We keep track of everything in a small notebook. Every night we pull down the shutters and hope the street dogs don't make too much noise.
