Roopa Shri Condiments

Our shop, Roopa Shri Condiments, is situated at number 24 in Shiv Shakthi Nagar, which is part of the Sanjay Nagar area. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stand, but the locals know the way. We mostly sell things like pickles, powders, and fried snacks that we keep in big plastic containers or glass jars. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just a counter and a lot of shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of our time weighing out small amounts of spices and putting them into little bags for customers. It gets a bit dusty because of the dry goods, and the smell of turmeric and mustard seeds is always hanging in the air. We don't have a computer system; we just write things down in a notebook when we need to. On rainy days, it’s pretty quiet, and we just sit on the wooden stools near the entrance and watch the street. But when there’s a festival coming up, everyone in the neighborhood shows up at once and it gets quite hectic. We try to keep the jars filled and the floor swept, but it’s a lot of work for a small crew. We’ve been at this address for several years now, and the neighbors are used to seeing us here every morning. It’s just a practical little shop that provides the basics for the kitchens around here.
