Rich Bowl is tucked into Commercial Street Meenakshi Koil Street 23. It’s a tight fit because the street is so narrow and full of shoppers all day long. We don't have a lot of room for storage, so we have to get deliveries almost every single day. The stairs leading up are a bit steep, and the railing wobbles if you lean on it too much. We do a lot of prep work in the back, mostly just cutting vegetables and washing rice. The bowls we use are stacked high on the counters. Sometimes the noise from the temple nearby is really loud, especially during festivals. We just keep working through it. The air conditioner works okay, but on Saturdays, it struggles because of how many people are packed inside. We have a small desk where we keep the bills and a calculator that is missing the equals button cover. You get used to the little quirks of the building. The windows are usually foggy from the steam coming off the pots. We don't have a big team, just a few people who have worked together for a long time. We know each other's moods by now. It is a busy spot, and we are usually tired by the time we pull the shutters down at night. We just try to keep the place tidy and the food ready. The floor needs a good scrubbing every night before we can head home.
