Renuka Tent House

Out here on Taverekere Kalewadi Main Road, it’s always loud with the buses and bikes going past. Renuka Tent House has been sitting on this stretch for a good while. We have a lot of stuff shoved into the storage area, from colored cloth to the heavy iron pipes for the bigger sheds. Most days involve dragging things out to the front to check for rust or dirt. It’s a lot of physical labor, and my back definitely feels it by Tuesday. We get a lot of walk-ins from people planning local weddings or temple festivals nearby. We don’t have a big office, just a small table with a ledger where we write down the dates and the deposits. The ceiling fan hums all day and doesn't do much for the heat, but it's home. We usually have tea brought over from the shop across the road while we wait for the delivery truck to get back. The main road makes it easy for the vehicles to pull in, though parking is always a bit of a headache. We try to keep the chairs stacked neatly so they don't tip over. It’s just us doing the daily grind, making sure the equipment is there when someone needs it for their daughter’s wedding or a community lunch. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We don't bother with fancy brochures or marketing. People just come by when they see the sign.
