Renuka Rice Mill

Renuka Rice Mill is located at 22/856 on Gandhi Chouke Road in Bommanahalli. If you have ever walked down Gandhi Chouke, you know it is a busy part of town. The mill stays pretty active most days of the week. There is always that smell of raw rice and husks in the air which seems to stay on your clothes long after you leave. The machinery we use makes a lot of noise, so we have to speak loudly to hear each other over the hum. It is not a quiet job but it is what we do here. The floor is usually covered in a fine layer of white dust no matter how many times we sweep it during the day. We handle a lot of rice for the people living around Bommanahalli. It is a practical setup with nothing kept for show. Just heavy bags and the sound of the motors running from morning till evening. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps and wait for it to come back. You meet all kinds of folks here, from farmers to local shop owners who need their grain processed. We have been at this address for quite some time now. The building is old and shows its age, but it works well for what we need. It is a long day of lifting and moving bags, but that is just the nature of running a rice mill on a busy road like this one.
