Renuka Rice Mill

We are over here at Door No. 379 in Khanapur, right in the Shivaji Nagar area. People around here know us as Renuka Rice Mill. It is a noisy place when the machines are going, but that is how a mill should be. We spend most of our mornings waiting for the trucks to come in with the raw paddy. There is always dust in the air, but you get used to it after working here for a few years. It is a simple setup we have. My cousin and I mostly run the operations, making sure the hulling is done right. We do not have fancy offices or anything like that. Just a big open space for the bags and the machinery. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is just part of living in Khanapur I suppose. Local farmers bring their harvest to us and we process it so they can sell it or use it for their own families. It is steady work. We have been at this same spot for quite a while now. If you walk down the main road in Shivaji Nagar, you can usually hear the sound of our motors humming along. We try to keep things organized but with so many bags of rice piled up, it gets a bit crowded. That is just how the business goes. We keep our doors open early and stay until the work for the day is finished up.
