Rehman Enterprises

Rehman Enterprises has been at Jayanagar 1880/17 for a good number of years now. We have seen the whole neighborhood change around us. When we first opened, there weren't half as many cars parked on this street. Now, it's a struggle just to get a rickshaw to stop near the door. Our shop is a bit small and the shelves are stacked right up to the ceiling with all kinds of stuff we sell. It’s mostly hardware and small bits for construction, but we keep a bit of everything just in case someone asks. My brother and I run the place, and we have one boy who helps with the heavy lifting and deliveries. The light in the back of the store has been flickering for a week, but we haven't had a chance to fix it because the mornings are always so rushed with people coming in. We don't have a computer system that tracks everything perfectly, so we still use the old ledger books for a lot of our accounts. It works for us. We know our customers by their faces and what they usually need for their homes. If someone needs a specific part, we usually know exactly which box it’s hidden in. It's a bit dusty and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it's where we spend most of our lives. We just keep things moving every day.
