Red and White Petals

Red and White Petals is based in Jayanagar, within the Kothari Industrial Estate on I B Patel Road. Our unit number is 1475. Because we are in an industrial estate, the surroundings are mostly big warehouses and trucks loading up goods. Our place is a bit different because we deal with flowers and plants. There are usually buckets of water everywhere and scraps of green stems on the floor. It can get quite chilly in the workspace because we keep the air cold to make sure everything stays fresh. We don't have a fancy shop window for people to look at. It’s more like a big garage where we do all the prep work. The walls have some marks on them from moving the heavy crates around, and the floor is often wet. We spend the early mornings sorting through what comes in from the market. It’s a lot of standing up and moving around. Our hands usually get a bit stained from the sap and the dirt. We use a simple wooden table for most of the work. The traffic on I B Patel Road can be very heavy in the afternoons, so we try to get our deliveries out as early as we can. It’s a lot of manual labor and it’s often messy, but it is the work we know how to do here at 1475.
