Ravi Handicrafts

Our shop is in a quiet part of Kumara Park East. It’s actually a house called Laxmi Nilaya, so it doesn't look like a big factory or anything. We work from here. Yamuna Bai Road is quite peaceful compared to the main city. We have rooms filled with various handicrafts. Most of it is stuff we’ve collected or had made by people we know. It feels more like a home than a shop. Sometimes the neighbors come over just to chat. We have a small garden area in front where we sometimes leave things out to dry in the sun. It’s a very relaxed way to do business. We don't have uniforms or anything like that. I usually wear my regular clothes and just help whoever walks through the door. It can be a bit hard to find if you aren't looking for the number 22. Madhav Nagar is a nice area to be in. We get a lot of local people who just want something small for their house. We don't do much shipping, mostly just people coming and picking things up. The wooden floors inside are a bit old and they make noise when you walk around. We keep the inventory in the back rooms. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, but we know where the best pieces are hidden. We enjoy the pace here. It’s not about being the biggest, just about doing what we know how to do every day.
