Indian Trading Company

We operate out of No. 17 Shantappa Lane, which is just off the S.J.P. Road Cross. It is a very crowded area with narrow lanes and lots of other shops, so things are always moving. Our business is mostly about trading different goods, so our days are filled with checking stock and talking to suppliers. The warehouse space is packed with boxes, and we spend a lot of time loading and unloading crates. It can get quite hectic when a new shipment arrives and we have to find space for everything. We aren't a big multinational company; we are just a local trading house trying to manage our inventory. Some days are slow and we just sit around drinking tea and waiting for the phone to ring, while other days we don’t even have time to eat lunch. The building is old and the stairs are a bit narrow, but it serves its purpose for us. We’ve been in this lane for quite some time, so we know the other shopkeepers around here pretty well. It’s a busy life in the market, but we like the energy of the place. We just try to keep track of the prices and make sure we have what people are looking for when they walk in. There’s no magic to it, just keeping the books balanced and the goods moving out the door.
