If you find yourself on R T Road in Nagarbhavi, you’ll see Rashmi Telecom sitting at number 485. It’s been our workspace for a good few years now. The shop is filled with various chargers, sim cards, and phone accessories tucked into every available corner. It’s not the most spacious place, and the lighting can be a bit dim in the back, but it works for what we do. People come in mostly for recharges or to fix a phone screen that’s finally given up. We spend a lot of time sitting behind the glass counter, waiting for the next customer. The traffic outside can be pretty loud, especially during the morning rush, so we usually have a small fan going to keep the air moving. We aren't a big chain or anything like that. It’s just a small business run by people who live right in the neighborhood. We know most of the stories of the people who come in because they stay to talk while their phone is being handled. Sometimes things take longer than expected because we’re waiting on a part, but we always tell it like it is. No point in making things sound better than they are. We just want to get the job done and help our neighbors stay connected without too much fuss. It’s a quiet existence for the most part, and we like it that way.
