Rana Bai Vishavkarma Furniture

My furniture workshop is located at 101 Vijaya Nagar and it has been my daily workspace for a long time. If you walk past, you will probably hear the sound of saws cutting through wood or the steady rhythm of hammers. It is a dusty place because of all the wood shavings on the floor, but that is just how it goes when you are building things by hand. We make all sorts of items like wooden chairs, tables, and big cupboards for local houses. I usually start the day early when it is still a bit cool. Most of the time, I am covered in sawdust and have a pencil tucked behind my ear. We don't have a shiny showroom or a sales person in a suit. People just come straight to the shop at 101 Vijaya Nagar to tell us what they need for their homes. It is hard work and my back often aches by the end of the day from lifting heavy planks of timber. We use simple tools and take our time to make sure things are solid. Sometimes we sit out front for a tea break and watch the people go by in Vijaya Nagar. It is an honest way to make a living and I like the smell of the fresh wood in the mornings. We just keep doing our thing, one piece of furniture at a time.
