My office is on the first floor of number 17 in Sampangiram Nagar. It’s right on Ashok Theater Road, which is a pretty landmark for anyone trying to find us. Being on the first floor is good because I can look out the window and see all the chaos on the street without being right in the middle of it. The theater road is always humming with people. You can hear the movie crowds sometimes, or just the general buzz of the shops downstairs. The stairs up to my place are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step. Once you're inside, it’s a fairly small space. I’ve got some old wooden furniture that has been with me since I started. It’s not the most modern look, but it’s comfortable and it works. I spend a lot of time sitting at my desk, talking to people who walk in. Most of the time, it’s just me and the sounds of the ceiling fan. I don’t believe in having a lot of fluff. If someone needs something, they come in, we talk, and we figure it out. No fancy presentations or long meetings. Just plain talk. Sampangiram Nagar is a good place to be. It’s central enough that I can get anywhere, but it still has its own local character. It’s a bit worn down in places, but so am I, so we fit together well.
