Jayanagar is one of those parts of Bangalore that still feels like it has some breathing room, even with all the cars. Our office is tucked away in the 4Th 'T' Block, which is a pretty well-known area for anyone who lives around here. Rajiv Gandhi University Of Health Sciences takes up a good chunk of space, and there is always a crowd of students or parents hanging around the entrance. The building has that solid, government-style look to it—wide corridors, high ceilings, and plenty of fans spinning away to keep the air moving. If you walk through the halls, you will see piles of files and people rushing around with various documents. It is a lot of administrative work, keeping track of everything that comes through the door. Outside, the trees line the streets of Jayanagar, providing a bit of shade when you go out for a lunch break. We usually just find a small place nearby to grab a dosa or some coffee. The pace here can be slow one minute and then completely chaotic the next when exams or results are coming up. It is an old-fashioned way of working in some ways, with lots of signatures and stamps needed for almost everything. We are not trying to be fancy or modern; we just keep the wheels turning for the students who need their certificates or registrations handled in this part of the city. It is a busy place, but we manage.
