Raj Metal Corporation is right in the heart of the mess at No 146, Kumbarpet Main Road. We’re just off the S.P. Road Cross, which means it’s nearly impossible to find a parking spot most days. The shop is always full of metal pieces and various items piled up high. It’s a small space for how much stuff we actually have in here. You can hear the sound of carts being pushed over the uneven road outside and people haggling over prices all day long. We don't have a quiet office; we usually just stand behind the counter or sit on a small stool while we talk to customers. There’s a lot of metal dust and the smell of grease, but you get used to it after a while. We know most of the regulars who come by, and we usually have a quick tea together while we figure out what they need. The light inside isn’t great, but we know exactly where everything is kept, even if it looks like a jumble to someone else. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy environment, but that’s just how business is done in Kumbarpet. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a website that looks professional. It’s just us, the metal, and the daily hustle of the market. We just try to get through the day’s orders without getting too overwhelmed by the crowds.
