Radha Krishna Oil Mill

The Radha Krishna Oil Mill sits on Plot No. 763 in the K.C. Layout over in Lingarajpuram. You can usually tell when you’re getting close because the air starts to smell like pressed seeds and oil. It’s a very distinct scent that stays with you even after you go home. We’ve been operating this mill for quite a long time, and the machines we use have their own little quirks that only we really understand. It’s not a high-tech facility by any means. It’s a place where we get our hands dirty and make sure the oil is coming out right. The layout is mostly residential, so we try to keep the noise down, but an oil mill is never going to be completely silent. We have people from all over Lingarajpuram coming by to get their oil containers filled. It’s a small operation, mostly just a couple of us managing the presses and keeping an eye on the stock. We don't have a big marketing plan or a sales team. We just open the gates in the morning and wait for the regulars to show up with their empty bottles. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit around and wait for it to come back, but that’s just part of life here. We just keep doing the work day after day and stay a part of the local community.
