Rachana Architect Company

Rachana Architect Company is situated in Banashankari 2nd Stage, specifically on 23rd Cross, near house number 1999. It’s a residential neighborhood that has become a bit more commercial over the years. Our office is in an older building that has a lot of character. We have drawing boards and computer screens scattered around the room. It is usually a bit messy with rolls of paper and samples of tiles or wood sitting on every available surface. Being in Banashankari is great because it is a central part of the city and easy for people to reach. The 23rd Cross is a relatively quiet street compared to the main roads, which helps us focus on our designs. Sometimes we step out to the local cafes for a break when the drawing gets a bit too much. The light in the office is pretty good in the mornings, which is when we do most of our creative thinking. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for a while. We talk a lot about materials and how things will actually look once they are built. It isn’t a polished corporate firm. We wear comfortable clothes and stay late when a deadline is coming up. It’s just a place where we try to figure out how to make spaces work better for people. We have a lot of half-empty coffee mugs sitting on the desks by the end of the day.
