R K Chicken Centre

R K Chicken Centre is right here in Madivala 1. It’s a busy little spot. We start early when the birds arrive in the back of the trucks. The noise is something you get used to after a few weeks, but at first, it's a lot. We spend a good chunk of the day cleaning the counters and making sure the water is running right. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going as much as we can. The floor is almost always wet because we’re constantly washing things down. It’s a small shop, not much room to move around when there are three or four of us working. Customers stand right out front, and sometimes they have to wait a bit when it gets crowded on the weekends. We don't have any big signs or fancy lights, just the name and the door. Madivala is always loud with traffic anyway, so we just fit right in with the rest of the shops. Some days the delivery guys are late and we have to just wait around, which is annoying. We mostly just focus on getting the orders ready for the people who live nearby. It’s a straightforward kind of life. We close up when the stock is gone and then do the whole cleaning thing over again for the next day. It’s tiring but it keeps us busy. We don’t really do anything besides sell chicken and keep the place going.
