R Abdulla Store

Vivek Nagar is a busy place, and R Abdulla Store has been part of it for a long time. We open up pretty early because people around here like to get their shopping done before the heat gets too bad. The store is full of sacks of rice, pulses, and all those daily things. It's a bit dark inside because we don't like using too many bright lights, keeps it cooler that way. We spend a lot of time weighing things out for people who only want a little bit of this or that. There’s always someone coming in asking for credit, and we have to check the old books to see where they stand. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and reaching for jars on the top shelves. The kids from the nearby school come in for sweets in the afternoon, and they always make a lot of noise. We just tell them to hurry up. The sidewalk outside is narrow, so people are always bumping into each other right in front of the door. Sometimes we sit on the wooden bench outside when business is slow just to watch the cars go by. It’s not a complicated business. We buy things, we sell them, and we try to keep the place organized enough so we can find what someone is looking for. We have a cat that hangs around the back, mostly just to keep the mice away from the grain bags.
