Quality Rice

Quality Rice is based on Tippu Sultan Road. We’re tucked in right near Sana Ladies Corner & General Store. It’s a narrow enough spot, but we manage to fit everything in. The smell of grain is always in the air here. We spend a lot of time hauling sacks around and making sure the piles are neat. It’s heavy work, and our backs feel it by the end of the day. The shop isn't much to look at, just a place for the rice to sit before it goes out to customers. People from the neighborhood stop by on their way to the general store next door. We talk about the weather or how the crops are doing. There’s a lot of dust because of the nature of the business, but we try to keep it manageable. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the different types of rice by sight. The road outside can get quite congested with trucks and carts. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t really notice the noise anymore. It’s just how our day goes. We aren't trying to change the world, just selling rice to anyone who needs it. Some days the humidity makes the work harder, but we just keep going. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied from morning until late evening. There's always another load to move.
