Protekz Tool & Die Makers

You can find us at Plot No. V-6 in the 2nd Stage of the Peenya Industrial Estate. We are right on 3rd Main Road. This part of town is always loud because of all the factories and workshops around us. Protekz Tool & Die Makers is basically a big room filled with machines and metal. There is usually a smell of oil and cut steel in the air. It’s not a clean place, but it’s a productive one. We spend our days at the benches or standing over the machines. The floor is hard concrete and our boots are always a bit greasy. We have a small desk tucked into the corner for the phone and the ledger, but most of the action happens in the middle of the floor. We get our supplies from the guys down the street. Peenya is a tough place to work when it gets really hot, but we have the big industrial fans going. Most of us have been working with tools for a long time. We don't talk much while the machines are running because you can't hear anything anyway. When we shut everything down at the end of the shift, the silence feels a bit strange. We just lock up the gates and head out with the rest of the workers. It’s a solid way to make a living.
