Prakash Fancy & General Stores

We are right on S V Road, just opposite the RTO office in Yeshwantpur. It’s number 26 on this stretch. Because of the RTO office, there’s always a crowd outside. People come in looking for files or pens to finish their paperwork. But we also carry fancy items like bangles, hair clips, and small gifts. The shop is a mix of everyday grocery and these little extras. The glass cases are full of colorful things that catch the light. It gets quite dusty with all the buses passing by so we spend a lot of time cleaning. The traffic noise is constant here. We’ve been at this spot for years. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling. We have a ladder we use to get the stuff from the top. Sometimes we lose the key to the cash box for a second and have to look for it. It’s just me and my brother running the place most days. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the slow afternoon hours. We don't have any big slogans. We just sell what people need. If you need a birthday card or some spices for dinner, we probably have both. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than four people are inside but we manage. People know we are here and they just stop by when they pass.
