Poonams Furniture House

Walked into the shop today and realized how long we've been sitting here in BTM Layout 2nd Stage. It is tucked away on the 4th Cross, right near the B D A. The place is usually full of sawdust and the smell of polish, which I've gotten used to over the years. We deal with all kinds of stuff, from those big heavy wooden wardrobes to the small stools people need for their kitchens. My uncle started this place a long time ago, and I just sort of took over the daily running of things. We don't have a big fancy website or anything like that. People just wander in from the neighborhood. Most of the time, I am out back checking on the finishing or trying to find space for a new shipment of chairs. The traffic on the main road can be a real pain when we are trying to deliver a sofa set to someone's flat, but we manage. Sometimes a customer comes in wanting something specific they saw in a magazine, and we have to explain why that wood won't work for our weather here. It is just a regular shop where we try to get things right for the folks who live around here. The back room is always a mess with tools and half-finished projects, but that is how a furniture house looks when work is actually happening. We stay busy enough.
