Pooja Cash N Carry

Chickpet is always crowded, and Pooja Cash N Carry is right in the middle of it all, over at number 3. We are tucked in right next to Bangalore Hosiery, so if you find them, you basically found us. It gets pretty loud out on the street with all the rickshaws and people moving bundles of clothes around. Most days start early here, around nine, when we start pulling up the shutters and dusting off the counters. The space isn't huge, but we make it work by stacking things high. Sometimes the lights flicker when the neighbor turns on their big machines, but we just ignore it. We spend a lot of time moving boxes back and forth. Customers usually wander in looking for specific items, and half the time they are complaining about the traffic outside or how hard it was to find a parking spot nearby. We keep a small stool behind the counter for when things get quiet, but that doesn't happen often in this part of town. Lunch is usually something quick brought from home, eaten while watching the street through the open door. It is a simple setup here, nothing fancy to look at, just floors and shelves filled with stock. We’ve been at this address for a while now, so the walls have some scuffs and the floor is worn down in the spots where people stand the most. It feels like home after so many years of the same routine every day.
