Planet Mobile

Up in T Dasarahalli, specifically in Shiv Shakti Nagar at number 38, is where you’ll find Planet Mobile. It’s a small shop, but it’s ours. The front is mostly glass so you can see right in from the street. I spend a lot of my time behind the counter, helping people with their SIM cards or showing them how to get their internet working again. It’s funny how much people rely on these little devices now. The walls are covered in those cardboard displays for different mobile networks. They’re a bit bright, but they brighten up the space I suppose. Sometimes the neighbor from the tea stall next door brings over a cup, and we talk about how the street is changing. There are a lot more cars now than when we first started. The floor is a simple gray stone that’s easy to mop. I have a small stool I sit on when the store is empty, watching the people go by outside. Often, someone will stop in just to ask for directions, and I don't mind helping out. It’s a decent way to spend the day. The lights flicker just a tiny bit when the heavy fridge in the shop across the way kicks in. You just get used to these little quirks. It’s a simple business in a busy part of town, and we just take each day as it comes without too much fuss.
