Pioneer Agencies

Our place, Pioneer Agencies, is at 58 Kasturba Road. It’s on the way to the Gorwa Refinery Road, right opposite the old Sangeeth Theatre. That theatre is a bit of a landmark, so it helps people find us. The road is always full of trucks and tankers going towards the refinery, so it can get pretty loud and dusty. We have a storefront where we keep our stock and a small office in the back. It’s a very practical arrangement. We spend a lot of time moving boxes and checking orders. The floor is concrete and we have metal shelves lining the walls. It’s not the kind of place you come to for a fancy meeting. We usually have the door open to let some air in, though that means we have to sweep the floor twice a day. We’ve been at this location for years and we know all the other shop owners on this stretch of road. We usually share a tea in the afternoons when things slow down a bit. It’s hard work, and the days are long, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on getting the supplies out to the people who need them. It’s a simple business, run by regular people who just want to do a decent job. We close the shutters around eight and go home to get some rest for the next day.
