Being out here in Krishnarajpuram, we see all kinds of people coming in. Parika is where I spend most of my waking hours. It’s a bit different from a small stall since we have more tables and a bigger kitchen to manage. Handling seafood means we have to be very careful with the morning deliveries. If the fish isn't right, the whole day feels off. I usually walk around the floor making sure the chairs are straight and the lights are working. It’s a lot of work keeping a bigger place running. We have a few staff members who have been with us since we started. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit loud when we have a full house, but that's just the way it is. We try to make it a place where people can actually sit and talk without feeling rushed out. I’m usually near the front or checking the stock in the back. It’s not always easy, especially when the power goes out or something in the kitchen breaks, but we manage. People come here for their dinners or sometimes a big family lunch on Sundays. It’s just a regular restaurant trying to do things properly. I like the bustle of it all. It feels good when the night ends and we’ve served everyone. It’s just an honest way to earn a living in this neighborhood. We stay busy with the cleaning until everything is ready for the next day.
