If you go down Chick Bazar Street near Mahathma Gandhi Road, you will find us at number 1014. This is where Palletainer Transport runs from. It is a busy spot and there is almost always a truck or a van parked out front or trying to squeeze through the narrow street. We deal with moving stuff, so there is always a lot of shouting and heavy lifting going on. The office part is just a small room with a couple of desks that are covered in delivery notes and logbooks. It is dusty and smells a bit like diesel and old boxes, which is expected in this line of work. We have been handling transport from this location for years now. It is a bit of a headache with the traffic in Chick Bazar, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to unload at once. We spend a lot of time on the phone tracking where the drivers are and making sure things get where they need to go. It is a simple operation, nothing fancy about it. We have a water cooler that everyone uses and a few chairs that have seen better days. People come in and out all day, mostly drivers or guys looking for work. We just keep our heads down and try to keep the pallets moving. It is a long day but we are used to the routine by now and things generally get done.
