Padmavathi Distrubutors is located over on Sadar Patrappa Road, specifically in P R Lane at 111/4. If you know SP Road, you know how crowded and tight the lanes can get. Our place is right in the middle of all that action. We spend a lot of our time moving boxes in and out of the small doorway. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and checking lists to make sure the right items go to the right shops. The walls are lined with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, filled with all sorts of hardware and supplies. It’s a bit of a maze inside. We started this because there was a need for a reliable middleman in this part of town. We don’t have a big fancy office with air conditioning. Instead, we have a sturdy desk, a few ledgers, and a lot of coffee to keep us going through the afternoon. The air in the lane is always full of the sounds of carts and people shouting, which is just part of the daily life here. We deal with a lot of regular shopkeepers who have been coming to us for years. We know their names and what they usually need without them even asking. It’s a simple way of doing business, based on just showing up every day and getting the supplies moved. We stay until the work is finished, however long that takes. It is what it is.
