We’ve been here at 336 Avenue Road for a while now. If you know this part of Bangalore, you know it’s always crowded and there’s hardly any place to park a scooter. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We mostly handle trading and getting things moved around for different clients. Most mornings start with checking what stock came in and what needs to go out before the narrow lanes get too packed with trucks and trolleys. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. We just have some desks and a lot of ledgers and boxes stacked up. People stop by to discuss orders, and sometimes we just have tea and talk about how the market is moving. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything, especially with the noise from the street coming in all day. We’ve seen the buildings around us change, but we just keep doing our thing. It gets dusty and loud, but that’s just how it is working in this area. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or use a torch to find what we need in the back. It’s a simple operation, really. Just a few of us making sure things get where they need to go without too much trouble. We don’t have a big sign or flashy lights. Most people find us because they’ve been coming here for years or someone told them where to look.
