Orca Frozen Foods

It is always freezing when I walk into work. We have to wear these thick, heavy jackets even when it is sweltering outside on Satara Road. Working at Orca Frozen Foods means my life is mostly about moving boxes from one freezer to another. We are located right at Nagarbhavi Pushpamangal Chowk, so there is a constant drone of traffic and horns outside the walls. Inside, it is much quieter, just the steady hum of the cooling units. My main job is checking the temperature gauges and making sure we don't run out of the popular items. We have all sorts of things packed away in those deep chest freezers. Sometimes the delivery trucks show up late in the evening and we have to stay behind to unload everything. It gets really tiring moving those heavy, frozen packets all day long. The concrete floor is hard and my feet usually feel pretty sore by the end of my shift. We don't have many windows here because we need to keep the heat out. It feels like stepping into a different world once you come inside from the busy street at number 50. I have been working here for a good while now and I pretty much know where everything is kept by heart. If a customer asks for a specific bag, I can usually find it without even looking at the labels. It is not exactly a glamorous job, but it keeps me busy. We don't talk much while working because the fans are so loud. You just get on with it.
