Onam Agarbathi Pvt. Ltd. is situated at No. 35/36 in N.S. Palya, right on Bannerglhata Road. You can usually tell you’re getting close because of the scent. We make incense sticks, so the whole place smells like sandalwood and jasmine most of the time. It’s a pleasant way to spend a workday. We’ve been in this part of N.S. Palya for a long time now. The factory and the office are basically in the same spot, so there is always the sound of machines and people moving around. Bannerglhata Road is always packed with traffic, but once you step inside our gates, it feels a bit more peaceful. We have a lot of workers who have been with us for generations. They know the mixes and the rolling techniques better than anyone. It’s a hands-on business. Even the managers end up with dust on their shoes by the end of the day. We don't do a lot of fancy advertising. Most people know Onam Agarbathi because they’ve seen our boxes in the local shops. We just focus on making sure the quality is okay and that the batches go out on time. It’s a lot of work to keep up with the demand, especially during festival seasons. We just take it day by day and try to keep everyone happy. It’s a good, honest business and we’re proud to be part of the community here.
