Residency Road is always a busy place to be. We are located right at No 17/1, which is directly opposite those big Prestige Towers everyone knows. If you’re looking for us, we are actually below the Purple Haze PUB. You have to walk down a little bit to find the entrance. It can get quite loud in the evenings when the music from upstairs starts thumping, but we’ve gotten used to the vibration over time. The restaurant and Joey's Cafe share the space here. It’s not a very fancy setup, just a lot of tables and the smell of spices from the kitchen. We spend most of our day prepping for the lunch rush. The traffic outside is usually at a standstill by five o'clock. You see people peering in from the street while they wait for their buses. My staff has been with me for a couple of years now. We know the regular customers who work in the towers across the street. They usually come in for a quick bite or a coffee. The rain sometimes leaks a bit near the front door when it pours really hard, so we keep a bucket handy. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just focus on keeping the stoves going and making sure the place is wiped down. It's a practical way to run things. We are just here doing our daily work on Residency Road.
