You will find us at 1230 Arabic College Sarkhej, which is right near the Shampur Railway Gate. It’s a noisy spot because of the trains that pass by and the gate that goes up and down all day long. We do a lot of welding and iron fabrication work here. The shop is basically a large open space with welding machines, some scraps of metal on the floor, and a few projects we are currently working on. Being near the Arabic College makes it easy to give directions to people who haven't been here before. We wear our masks and work through the heat, making gates or window grills for the houses around here. There are always sparks flying somewhere in the back. The walls are a bit dark from the smoke and the work we do. It’s not a place for sitting around, there’s always something that needs to be joined or smoothed down. When the railway gate closes, the traffic builds up right outside our door, and it gets even louder with the engines idling. We just keep our heads down and finish the orders as they come in. It’s a simple business, built on doing the work with our hands and making sure the iron is solid. We don’t have much in the way of an office, just a small corner where we keep the bills and the phone for when people call.
