Nm Steels And Fabrications is based over in Bommanahalli, specifically at 132 S V P Nagar. It’s a bit of a drive to get back here sometimes, but we like the neighborhood. We do a lot of steel work and fabrication in our shop. It’s usually loud with the sound of grinding and welding going on throughout the day. We have metal scraps and tools scattered around the floor, which is just part of the process. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be smart about where we put the raw materials when they arrive. We don't have a reception area or anyone to greet you at the door; you usually just walk in and find one of us working on a project. S V P Nagar has a lot of small shops like ours, so it feels like a community of makers. We work on whatever comes through the door, from small window grills to larger frames. The walls of the shop are covered in soot and marks from the years of fabrication. It’s not a place where you’d want to wear nice clothes because you'll definitely get some grease or dust on them. We just focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the welds are solid for the people who come to us. It’s hard on the back and the eyes, but it’s what we do to make a living.
