If you head down Mahalakshmi Layout and find Arun Motors Lane, you’ll see our place at 896/1/3. Nisarga Management Consultants is tucked away there, a bit back from the main noise. It’s a decent area, though parking can be a real headache if you arrive after ten in the morning. Our office is mostly just shelves and a few sturdy tables where we sit. We’ve got a small kettle in the back for making tea because nobody wants to walk out every time they need a drink. The floor is that old-fashioned tile that stays cool even when it’s hot outside. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost looking for the lane, so we usually tell them to look for the big tree near the corner. We aren't big on decorations here. There’s a calendar on the wall from three years ago that nobody took down because we like the picture on it. It’s just a handful of us working here, so it gets quiet when everyone is focused. We use a lot of notebooks and pens; there’s always a pile of them near the phone. The door creaks when it opens, which lets us know someone is coming in before they even speak. We’ve grown used to the rhythm of the lane. It’s a practical space for practical work, nothing more than that really.
