New Time Mart

Starting at 285 in the 5th block, we’ve been around this part of Banashankari 3rd Stage for quite a while now. Most people know us because we are right near the Bata showroom, which is a big landmark for everyone around here. It’s not a huge fancy store with glass walls and uniforms, just a regular shop where we keep a lot of wall clocks and wristwatches. We opened up New Time Mart because there weren't many places nearby to get a battery changed or a strap fixed without going all the way to the main market. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the road construction that never seems to end, but we try to keep the display cases clean. Some days it’s really quiet, and I just sit here cleaning the glass or winding up the old mechanical pieces we have in the back. Other times, like during festival seasons, families come in looking for gifts and it gets a bit hectic. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the tools. It’s a simple life running a business in Danilimda. We see the same faces every week, mostly neighbors who stop by just to say hello or ask the time. It feels good being part of the local street and knowing everyone’s names after all these years of working in this same spot.
