New Madras Store

You can find us at No- 404 on Avenue Road. We are right in the middle of City Market, not too far from Hotel Chandra Vihar. New Madras Store has been around for quite some time. The area is always crowded with people and vehicles, so it’s never quiet here. We sell a variety of goods that people look for in the city market. Our shop is tucked into a row of other stores, and it’s easy to miss if you aren’t looking for the number. Inside, we have shelves piled high with stock. It gets a bit dusty because of all the traffic outside, so we are always cleaning. We handle things like clothes, fabrics, or sometimes small home goods depending on what people are asking for lately. The space is tight, and we have to use every inch of the walls. On weekends, the foot traffic is heavy, and it can get a bit chaotic inside. We just try to help everyone as they come in. There is no air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that have seen better days. We know the other shopkeepers on the street, and we all look out for each other. It’s a traditional way of working in a place like this. We don't have a website or anything; we just open the shutters every morning and see who comes by. It is just a local business.
