Being right next to the Corporation School here in Ejipura means we hear the kids playing every day. Neelams Luncheon Service Pvt Ltd is located at No.36 on Srinivagulu Main Road. It’s a noisy street but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We spend most of our mornings chopping vegetables and getting the big pots ready. Lunchtime is always a bit of a scramble. We are mostly focused on getting meals out to people who need them. We aren't a five-star restaurant or anything like that. We just make food that people actually want to eat for lunch. The kitchen is small and it gets crowded when all of us are in there at once. Sometimes we run out of salt or the gas cylinder needs changing right in the middle of a rush. We just deal with it. Our regulars know us and they know the food is honest. We don't have a marketing team or a social media person. We just have our stove and our delivery boxes. The building is an old one but it stays cool enough. We see a lot of the same faces every single day. It’s a good feeling knowing people count on us for their midday meal. We just keep our heads down and keep cooking until the pots are empty. It is just the way we like to work.
