Our office is up on the first floor over at K.S. Garden, just off 4th Cross on Lalbagh Road. It’s 174/1 if you’re looking for the door. It’s a busy area, and being on the first floor means we hear all the bikes and cars zooming past all day. We deal with tubes and steel piping mostly. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls to coordinate everything. The stairs are a bit narrow, so we don’t move much heavy stock up here; that usually stays at the yard or goes straight to the customers. The office is pretty basic. We have a few desks, some filing cabinets that have seen better days, and a tea kettle that’s always on. It’s not a fancy corporate setup by any means. We just sit here and handle the logistics of the tube business. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three people are talking on the phone at once. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the files pile up on the corners of the desks. The light comes in through the side windows, which is nice in the morning. We’ve been at this location for a good stretch of time now. Most people who deal with pipes in this city know where we are. We just come in, do the day's work, and head home when it’s done. It’s a simple, steady way of doing business.
