Natraj Trading Company is right in the heart of Sultanpet at number 165. If you’ve ever been to Sultanpet, you know how narrow the lanes are and how packed it gets with people and goods. Our shop is no different. It’s a small space, but we pack a lot into it. We’ve been trading here for many years, following in the footsteps of the shops around us. Most of our day is spent dealing with wholesalers and people looking for specific items that you can only find in this part of town. It’s a noisy, hectic environment, but we wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves if it were quiet. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing we are here. The shop floor is always covered with boxes, and there’s always someone coming in to ask for a price. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’ve built up a lot of relationships over the years. We aren't corporate people. We wear comfortable clothes and drink a lot of tea while we work. It’s just a regular trading company in a very busy market. We know our stock well, and we know our customers even better. That’s how we’ve always done it, day after day, year after year, just keeping things simple and direct.
