National Shop

National Shop is at number 5 on Sadar Patrappa Road. Everyone just calls it SP Road. If you’ve been here, you know it’s the place for all things hardware and electronics. Our shop is small and packed with bins. We have everything from tiny screws to big heavy tools. It’s hard to see the back of the shop because the aisles are so narrow. We have been at this location for a long time. You get used to the noise of the street after a while. People come in with a broken part in their hand and ask if we have something that matches. We usually do, but it takes a minute to find it in the drawers. We don't use a computer for the stock. It’s all in our heads. The counter is made of old wood and it’s been worn smooth by thousands of hands over the decades. We spend a lot of time talking to the other shop owners on the block. It’s a tight community here. We don't have fancy packaging or a big sign. Number 5 is just a reliable spot where you can get what you need for a repair. Sometimes we stay open late if there are still people wandering the road. It’s a bit dusty and the fan clicks when it turns, but it’s our life. We just keep the bins full and the door open for whoever walks in.
