National Housing Bank

We are located on the 2nd Floor of Cauvery Bhavan. It is a bit of a climb if the lift is busy, which happens more often than you would think. National Housing Bank has been around this area for quite some time now. Dealing with housing finance and stacks of papers takes up most of our hours. The office overlooks the busy road. You can hear the horns honking all day from Kempa Gowda Road and the surrounding Muktanand Karelibaug area in Vadodara. We have desks piled with files and the computers are always humming. It is not a very quiet place, but we are used to the noise. Staff members usually bring their lunch from home in metal boxes and eat together in the small break area. It is a steady setup, so everything has a specific way it needs to be done. We spend a lot of time checking documents and making sure the numbers are right. Sometimes people come in confused about their applications, and we try to explain things as simply as possible. It is a steady routine here. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint or some cleaning, but the work does not stop for that. We see a lot of different people coming through the doors every week, all looking for some help with their homes. It is a lot of responsibility but we just take it one file at a time without any rush.
