Nandini Milk Products

The KMF complex on Dr. M. H. Marigowda Road is a massive place that never seems to sleep. We’re located in the unit right there near the D. R. College Post, and it’s always a hive of activity. From the early hours before the sun even comes up, the milk tankers are rolling in through the gates. You can hear the hiss of the steam and the clanking of the crates all day long. Nandini is a name everyone in the state knows, but for us working here, it’s just our daily job. We deal with the processing and the packaging of all sorts of milk products. The floors are always wet from being hosed down to keep things clean. It’s a loud, humid environment, but you get used to it after a while. We have a huge staff of people from all over the city. Some have been here for thirty years and others are just starting out. We don’t spend much time in fancy offices. Most of the work happens on the floor, watching the machines and making sure the packets are sealed right. The traffic on Marigowda Road is always a nightmare, especially for our drivers, but we manage to get our trucks out on time somehow. It’s a lot of pressure to keep the city supplied with fresh milk, but we don’t talk about it in big terms. We just do the shifts, punch the clock, and make sure the milk is ready for the morning.
