Nakoda Steel

We’ve been here at 17 Magadi Road on the 14th Cross for quite a long time now. If you know the area, we are just a few steps away from the bus stop, so it gets pretty loud and busy during the morning rush. Dealing with steel isn't exactly a quiet or clean job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. There's always a truck backing in or someone unloading heavy rods and sheets. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. The shop itself is packed with inventory, sometimes so much that it’s hard to walk around the back. We try to keep things organized, but when three different deliveries show up at once, it becomes a bit of a mess for an hour or two. Most of the people working here have been around for years, so we know the regulars who stop by. We aren't fancy and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the roof doesn't leak and the scales work fine. Magadi Road has changed a lot since we first opened up, with more traffic and new buildings popping up everywhere. Still, we’re right here in the same spot, opening up early and closing when the work is finished. It’s a simple life selling steel and making sure the orders are stacked right for whoever is coming to pick them up next. It's not glamorous work but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
