N Shivaram Stores

N Shivaram Stores is situated on Banneraghatta Road, near the Dabhoi Road junction at number 41558. It’s a general store where we sell all sorts of daily essentials. The shelves are packed with everything from soap and toothpaste to snacks and grains. It’s a very busy road, so we get a lot of people stopping by on their way home from work. I’ve been behind this counter for many years, and I’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in with their own children. We have a big metal shutter that we pull up every morning at seven. The delivery trucks come by early to drop off the milk and bread. It’s a lot of work keeping track of the inventory and making sure nothing goes past its date. The store can get quite cramped when more than three people are inside, but everyone is used to it. We have a small stool behind the counter, but I rarely get a chance to sit down. My wife helps out in the evenings when the rush starts. We know most of our regulars by their favorite brands. It’s a noisy spot because of the traffic on Banneraghatta Road, but you get used to the sound of the horns after a while. We just keep the lights on and the shelves full for whoever needs something. It’s a simple life running a corner shop like this. We usually close up late once the traffic dies down.
